Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, the wife of Nigeria’s President-elect, in a statement released to mark this year’s International Children’s Day on May 27, assured Nigerians of the incoming government’s commitment to the development of children.
According to her, “Education is going to be the main focus of the incoming APC government.”
She further said, “our children are our future and Education of our children is the best way to secure the future of our country.”
Mrs Buhari also calls for the speedy implementation of the Child Rights Act which has been passed by the National Assembly, but yet to be adopted by several states.
The wife of the President-elect also assured Nigerians that, despite the need to eradicate the menace of insecurity all over the country and restoring normalcy in the north east with emphasis on encouraging children to return to school and making schools safer.
She extends her best wishes to children all over the country with specially reference to the less privileged.
